My Design Philosophy ...
I believe design is the bridge between human needs and technological possibility. As an Industrial Designer with a concentration in User Experience and Human-Computer Interaction, my work is grounded in empathy, strategy, and research. I see design not just as a way to make things functional or beautiful, but as a process of uncovering deeper insights about people—their challenges, behaviors, and aspirations—and translating those insights into solutions that create real impact.
My experiences span from product and UX design to innovation strategy. At IBM, I worked as an Innovation Designer within Client Engineering, where I collaborated with engineers, architects, and business leaders to uncover client pain points, facilitate design thinking workshops, and transform insights into prototypes and demos that showcased IBM technologies. Beyond enterprise work, I have explored design in diverse contexts: conducting observational studies at the High Museum of Art to inform ergonomic furniture design, creating collaborative games for children that build empathy and memory skills, and developing wellness-focused home goods concepts that integrate sustainability and usability. Across projects, I’ve learned to balance user research, technical feasibility, and business goals while pushing ideas from exploration to execution.
As a designer, I thrive in collaborative, cross-disciplinary spaces, where I can connect perspectives from engineering, psychology, and business to fuel innovation. My philosophy centers on designing with intentionality—whether it’s simplifying complex systems, facilitating workshops that spark new thinking, or shaping products that elevate daily experiences. Every project is an opportunity to ask not only “what are we building?” but also “why does it matter, and how will it change someone’s life?”
